COVID-19@home

COVID-19@home is a fictional peer-to-peer distributed computing project to process data generated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Short for “COVID-19 Operational eValuation of Infection Data starting in 2019”, this project uses spare CPU time of participants’ computers and mobile devices to search for patterns in the data.

This imaginary project was created to support the satirical post “Consequences of COVID-19 PPE surplus” published on this website and contains no less than three needle-sized truths concealed in a large haystack of fake news. First person to identify them correctly and email me the result will win a candlelit dinner with David Mitchell [Really? No, of course not.] The picture below is purely gratuitous and in no way implies any kind of friendship or other association between us.
