Note: these pieces are here for completeness only and do not reflect the technical and artistic aspirations of later works. They are, however, a starting point and a step in the right direction.
These titles were recorded in my Munich flat around 2007 – 2012 and helped me realise I would never make it as a recording artist and that I had better look elsewhere if I wanted to create a musical legacy.
Another Keith
A reference to my obsession with Keith Jarrett who took over from Oscar Peterson as my main musical influence around 1978 when I discovered the “Death of the Flower” album.
Happy Days
Recorded in a single take after getting back from the pub.
Serenade (piano version)
My attempt at doing a Ronald Binge.
Koto
My first serious piece created on a Digital Audio Workstation, with Cakewalk as the main synthesis, editing and production tool. It shows!
Opus 11
One of my favourite live pieces, often the first one of a set when playing in a pub or bar.
Passion
Inspired by Peter Gabriel’s film score to Martin Scorseses’s film of the same name.
Raga
A short trip to India.
Summer Time
The timeless classic. Goes from party mood to melancholy a bit too quickly for my liking.
The Piano
My take on Holly Hunter’s title piece from the film.
When
My first foray into what it feels like to be old.
